Taylor Lord Photography Trend alert! If your planning your wedding over the next few months you'd be mad not to consider peach and gold as your colour theme. It is going to be 2014's biggest wedding trend, with glitzy cakes, lots of sequins and beautiful blown English grown roses. For me gold and peach is a more grown up version of the vintage vibe thats been growing in popularity and shows […]

These Are a Few of Our Favourite Pins - a Weekly Roundup

Wedding invitations have to be one of my favourite things to look at on Pinterest. I'm literally addicted to it, there are so many gorgeous ideas! So how do you go about choosing the right stationary for your big day? I always think the invite sets the tone for your guests, as well as all the important information(day, date, venue etc!), it gives them little clues to the vibe of your day. We're thinking long and hard about the scene that we want to set with our invites, relaxed garden setting with a few unexpected surprises ... and ... NOTHING […]

Autumn in the Parlour

The change in each season is possibly my favourite time of the year. I love snuggling up when the weather changes from summer to autumn, the longing for the sunshine when spring changes to summer. Whats not to love. Autumn is all about texture and deep jewel colourways. Seeded grasses, mixed with berries, ivy mixed with rose hips, lovely cotton buds nuzzling along side soft sage green dusty millar. The combinations are endless and, for me, foliage forms the basis of any autumnal arrangement. I also love the colour combinations, there is still a hangover from the soft pastle tones […]

Here Come the Boys!

Men, weddings and flowers. There may be a few sweeping statements in this little blog post, and I know there are always a few occasions where people buck the trend, but generally men have little say in wedding flowers. I also know for most men its not always the most exciting topic when it comes to planning a wedding - food, yup I get that, drinks, suits, games, ties, table plans ... generally flowers come some way down their list. I'm not complaining, but I do like it when a groom wants to step away from the traditional rose buttonhole. […]

In the Shop ... Summer Blooms

Our top 10 summer flowers - the floral equivalent to our summer soundtrack at Green Parlour. We are completely spoilt at this time of year, so many gorgeous blooms available and so many delicious varieties. Although my heart lies in Spring, I have to admit my heart flutters slightly when I start to think about vases filled with delphiniums, the scent of flowering mint! Each of the above flowers has a special place in my heart. I know there are a few marmite flowers on there, dahlias in particular seem to have a bad rep, but I cant understand how […]
