Creating Magical Wedding Flowers at Mapledurham House: A Church and Marquee Wedding

Creating Stunning Wedding Flowers for a Mapledurham House Wedding

Nestled within the rolling countryside, Mapledurham House offers a stunning backdrop for your wedding day. With its expansive grounds and majestic house, it provides a perfect setting for couples looking to personalise their wedding.

I’ve had the pleasure of providing wedding flowers at Mapledurham House for many wonderful couples, and each marquee wedding I’ve worked on there has been completely unique.

For Megan and Doug, their wedding flower journey began 8 months before their big day. When they shared their vision with me, I was thrilled to hear that they had chosen one of my favourite palettes—white, blush, and pink.

July is filled with flower options for this palette. For Megan and Doug we opted for roses, sweet peas, hydrangeas and delphiniums used throughout their day.

Bridal Bouquet Inspiration: Blush Pink and White Florals for a Mapledurham House Wedding

The bridal bouquet is, without a doubt, one of the most important elements of any wedding. For Megan, we worked with a stunning mix of scabiosa, jasmine trails, sweet peas, Quicksand roses, O'Hara roses, and a selection of seasonal foliage.

Megan’s bouquet was designed with a loose, romantic style, giving it a soft, feminine feel that perfectly reflected her wedding vision.

To finish the bouquet, I added silk ribbon trails, which gave it that gorgeous swish and sway—the perfect finishing touch to an already beautiful design. Megan’s bouquet truly felt like it belonged in the stunning surroundings of Mapledurham House

Blush Pink and White Buttonholes: Unique Floral Designs for Your Wedding Day

For Megan and Doug's wedding, the buttonholes featured a beautiful mix of Quicksand roses and Majolika spray roses, arranged simply with seasonal foliage to complement the bridal bouquet. Each buttonhole was finished with a silk ribbon tie, matching the elegance of the bouquet and adding a personal touch to each wearer’s look.

Stunning Wedding Flowers for Your Ceremony at St. Margaret’s Church

St. Margaret’s Church, just outside the grounds of Mapledurham House, is such a charming and picturesque venue. It doesn’t require much dressing, as its natural beauty speaks for itself.

However, we wanted to add a touch of floral elegance to enhance the entrance.

While creating a full arch around the door was beyond budget—especially considering it wouldn’t be easily reused at the marquee reception—we came up with a more cost-effective solution. We placed two milk churns outside the church, filled with beautiful seasonal flowers, and added loose foliage to frame the backdrop of the church. This arrangement created the illusion of an arch without the added expense, and the milk churns were easily moved after the ceremony to be repurposed at the reception.

Inside we decided on pew ends with satin ribbon trails that were later re-used in the marquee bar area and a few arrangemend to sit in the alcoves.

Reception Flowers at Mapledurham House: Creating the Perfect Marquee Atmosphere

For their marquee reception, Megan and Doug chose long banqueting tables, and we kept the flowers simple yet beautiful with seasonal blooms in little vases that matched the soft tones of the bridal bouquet. The flowers brought the space to life, adding just the right touch of elegance without feeling overdone.

The couple provided the candles, which gave the whole space a lovely, warm glow. After the reception, we carefully repackaged the vases and left them as gifts for the guests—a little floral keepsake from the day.

We were on hand throughout the event, ensuring everything was set up perfectly and the Church Flowers were moved to seamlessly finish the space.
