Dusky country garden wedding

From the moment we met Tanya and Angus way back in September last year we knew the flowers were right up our street!

Brides-to-be take note: Tanya provided us with the most amazing book of fabric samples allowing us to match everything perfectly. It was such a joy to have this piece of kit at our disposal!

 

Clusters of vases adorned the tables, each filled with peonies, Amnesia roses, veronica, scented eucalyptus and herbs, flowering nigella and Majolica spray roses.

I know I shouldn’t have favourites but Tanyas bouquet has to be one of my favourite of the year so far. Filled to the brim with blousy peonies, little groupings of ivory Majolika spray roses, darts of veronica, nigella and to top it off …sweet peas! Yum!

Spring is in the air

We’re a few weeks late on the ‘love is in the air’ theme, so we thought we’d skip straight to spring.

Officially my favourite wedding bouquet ever! I’m head over heals in love with this gorgeous spring inspired wedding bouquet filled with anemones, scented lilac, parrot tulips, skimmia, blush Majolika spray roses and blousy ranunculus.

 

I almost couldn’t bring myself to deliver it to the bride.

Emily + Andrew’s winter wedding

Emily and Andrew first came to see us over two years ago, whilst this is super organized, it made the whole process of choosing the right flowers for them completely stress free. We had time to source, suggest and show them lots of different items, ideas and of course flowers!

 

 

They chose to get married at The Elephant Hotel in Pangbourne for its truly relaxed vibe and super chilled out atmosphere. The perfect setting for the winter wonderland wedding of their dreams.

The final touches to the ceremony room included these rather ‘WOW’ candelabras, which I found just days before the wedding. A rushed email to Emily and Andrew with attached pictures and they loved them too.

 

 

The flowers were designed to create a wonderfully romantic setting, with an undertone of 1940’s vintage glamour. Completely up my street!

 

White Akito roses, were combined with berried ivy, viburnum berries, steely green eucalyptus, scented freesias, Avalanche roses and hints of Amnesia roses to create luxurious, opulent table centres. We all absolutely fell in love with the large silver pedestal bowls and decided they were a must!

 

 

 

Cakes always amaze me, and Emily and Andrew had spared no expense with this drop-dead-I-want cake made by Peggy Porschen, who travelled all the way to Pangbourne to install it herself.

 

 

Emily’s wedding bouquet contained Akito roses, Amnesia roses, Majolika spray roses, berried ivy, viburnum berries, scented eucalyptus and thistles as a nod to her Scottish roots.

 

 

The bridesmaid’s bouquets were filled with Akito roses, Majolika spray roses, viburnum berries, berried ivy, eucalyptus and scented freesias. The perfect accompaniment to Emily’s wedding bouquet.

 

I can’t sign off without mentioning their wedding favours. Macaroons are possibly my favourite sweet treat of all time; macaroons from Ladurée are to die for.

Wedding flowers … country elegance

Peonys, guelder rose, sceneted freesias, white Avalanche roses, and Snowflake spray roses

As soon as we had our first consultation with Samantha and Kevin way back in the deepest depths of winter, we knew this wedding would be right up our street! The brief: country elegance. The colours: creams, ivory and zesty green. The venue: Lodge Park a completely gorgeous National Trust property near Cheltenham. HEAVEN!

Samantha knew from the start that she’d love hydrangeas and peonies to feature heavily, and scent was important too. I’m such an advocate for splashing out a little more for a wedding bouquet with scent. Freesias have to be one of my favourites, their heady citrus scent instantly transports me to a tranquil holiday somewhere in the south of France.

 

Bay trees Reading Berkshire

With a rather regal entrance with stunning, uninterrupted views across the Chiltons, Lodge Park needed something to bring a splash of Samantha and Kevin’s day to the venue for the ceremony. We toiled with heaps of ideas, but after much deliberation (and a sign from him upstairs) we decided on bay trees, decorated elegantly with white Avalanche roses.

I’m not a pedestal girl, I have never been convinced of their beauty. A vase filled with gorgeous spring and summer flowers … great! A hefty black iron pedestal stand … not my bag. Lodge Park needed something light, clear glass and plain unassuming plinths. Just perfect. We filled the vases with scented eucalyptus, white hydrangeas, peonies, viburnum opulus, white delphiniums, and white Avalanche roses in a simple hand tied arrangement, which complimented the stairway perfectly.
